This weeks blog post will be about how Mortgage lending has increased nearly 20% in only one year. The article "Mortgage lending strongest since 2008, says CML" from the BBC website, which as already mentioned informs about the increasing Mortage lending that is at an all time high since 2008. The article satets that the prices of houses have gone down to just about an avereage of 70000$ where as the mortages went up to over 41000 $
The supplie as well as the demand for houses to be sold, is decreasinf drastically which is not good for the amrket itself, but now that the mortgage has gone up so high there are new oppertunites.
To remind y'all what Mortgageg Financing was:
When you want to buy a property, however do not hav eth emoney to pay everythign at once, so you pay somethign and the rest of the payment is done in smaller rates that are managed so hat it will not affect your other obligatory cost in a month.
Advantages of Mortgages:
- makes home ownership affordable ( at some poitn everyone wants to own a home of their own)
- cost effective way of borrowing money
and Disadvantages of Mortgages:
- you pay back back a lot more than youwould have had to pay originally
- you have to watch out for the fees that are charged
In conclusion it is to say that people are depended on Mortgages, however that with them there are also some negative aspects.

BotW: ODD TODD's
This Blog is about the innovative idea of Doron Myersdorf: StoreDot's One-Minute Phone Charger
The article is basically only a summary of what the Product is, meaning how its funded, what the price will be, the technical stuff and so on.
The article states that the product should go into mass production by 2017.
Now this article gives a great example for an innovative idea of one person, who with this will create a whole new section in the technology market, and also add to already existing products.
1) It gives you an example if a Financing method. This product is financed by only funding meaning investors investing into the product, with which the innovator has raised over 66 million dollars.
2) It shows an example of how a market can grow bigger. With this product the industry of batteries will grow bigger, and the market will grow more competetive. This we, as BizsMan students can thereofre use diifferent models to help see the future of the product, and also see the risks for other businesses.
3) It also shows that only one small idea, can lead to a number of products and imrove already existing products
4) we could also analyse how the increase of price for already existing products could effect the customer base/ approach to the customers.

VW and Suzuki settle four-year dispute
The article on BBC is about how after Suziki has wanted VW to sell back their shares after buying them in 2009, where they had the plan to collaborate their ideas on technologies whcih failed after Suzuki had the impression that VW was witholding important informations, and they have now finally settled to an agreement where Suzuki will buy back the share of VW at a resonable price.
This is an great example of how firms, that are in the same branche, try to form a partnership where they then share information and help each other enter the market of the other.
In the case of VW and Suzuki, this partnership didnt work out, because one of the parties was misstrusted and was accused of witholding information, which they then apparently used for their cars and didnt give Suzuki the possiblility to use them for their cars. Another factor was that VW was a stakeholder of Suzuki, which meant that (of course depending on the kind of stakeholder they are) they had an influence on Suzuki, however Suzuki, not regarding technological information, had no influence on VW at all.
Suzuki then said that this " divorce " would have no affect on their business, or profits until the end of this year.
This did cost both parties a lot of money, due to court costs since 4 years, and all based only on the possibility that VW could have withhold information from Suzuki, which they however objected.
Suzuki will never "re-marry" enter a partnership whith VW again.

Today on the BotW:
"WhatsApp launches desktop messaging option"
The post is about how WhatsApp, one of the world largest messaging platforms, is expanding and published a desktop version of WhatsApp and therefore widen their user base, however most of the messaging should still be continued over the PhoneApp.
There are small disadvantages coming with that. Since WhatsApp has an annual cot of 0.99 euros, users might now find ways around paying that annual fee. Apple users might start complaining to WhatsApp or Apple itself, because WhatsApp's desktop version is not for them to use, due to Apple terms.
With producing a Desktop version, people around the world will not have to rely on having a good internet connection everywhere, or have their phone constantly with them. They can be connected to a normal WI-FI server, and then check their messages at work, or somewhere where they do not have their phone with them.
Also, WhatsApp, is owned by Facebook now, which means that tracking people is made a lot easier for Facebook, and other people in general. Having your laptop only tells them your current location but not where you are at, every single moment of the day.
this is a way of WhatsApp trying to widen their user base, because of falling revenues, with this they in this case Facebook and WhatsApp want to increase those revenues again.
This you could link to the change concept. With this they are trying to change their user base, and are trying to widen their user base. They are changing their concept of largest phone messaging to desktop using ability. This is a huge step for them, but shows how Facebook is interacting with WhatsApp. Although Facebook went from desktop version, to App version and then to a separate message version, it shows how they want WhatsApp to adapt.

Today on the Blog of the week: "The Value of celebrity endorsements"
The article, 3 sections but i will only refer to 2 of them, is about how celebrity endorsement has changed over the years, and gives the example of Daniel Thomas's company that has worked together with pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who promoted the company via twitter and via a video about her talking about the product, and how she herself likes them very much. Daniel Thomas said that the annual turnover, after Sophie Ellis- Bextor promoted the small company, was over $1million, a huge increase than before. he pointed out that with celebrity endorsement his company has reached that mark much quicker, than it would have eventually without Sophie Ellis-Bextors promotion.
He also says how it is hard for people to have trust in a business if it is a small business, no one has ever heard of, and that demands 5,000 per item, like his own business.
In the 2nd section of the article, it says how now celebrity endorsment for small, unknown companies is not as unusual as it as before, and again gives an example of an celebrity that has raised incomes for several restaurants, by filming small gigs.
This is in a way related to our current topic 'Marketing'. It shows how businesses have to change their strategies, and how those strategies have an effect on their profit. It also shows how people can be influenced by the celebrities, and shows that they believe that if celebreties think its good, there must be something true about that statement. Changing their market strategies can also change their customer base. It could be that Daniel Thomas's has now, with the promotion of Sophie Ellis-Bextor, widen his customer base, into another area.
